Thehil Russelliah Singh

 

Thehil Russelliah Singh is a PhD candidate in Biblical Studies with a major in Hebrew Bible and a minor in Cultural Anthropology at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, Evanston, IL. She has a Master of Theological Studies from McCormick Theological Seminary, Chicago, IL; a Bachelor of Divinity (equivalent to a US M.Div.) from Gurukul Lutheran Theological College & Research Institute, Chennai, India; and a B.A. in English Literature from Women’s Christian College (WCC), Chennai, India. 

Her most recent research projects have been on kinship, identity, and family in the Old Testament and most significantly in the book of Genesis. She has presented papers at both regional and annual Society of Biblical Literature meetings. Her doctoral dissertation will focus on the topic: “The Ancestress of Ancient Israel: How She Constructs Kinship and Shapes Identity.” Since 2018, Thehil serves as the Coordinator for the Office of Student Academics (OSA) at McCormick. She also has over five years of international non-profit and higher education experience.
